But anothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s bbook of life.

The River of Life

2Then the angel
Greek he
showed me dthe river of ethe water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
3through the middle of fthe street of the city; galso, on either side of the river, hthe tree of life
Or  the Lamb. In the midst of the street of the city, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life
with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were jfor the healing of the nations.
4 kNo longer will there be anything accursed, but lthe throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and mhis servants
Greek bondservants; also verse 6
will worship him.
5 oThey will see his face, and phis name will be on their foreheads. 6And qnight will be no more. They will need no light of lamp ror sun, for sthe Lord God will be their light, and tthey will reign forever and ever.

Jesus Is Coming

7And he said to me, uThese words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of vthe spirits of the prophets, whas sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”

8And behold, xI am coming soon. yBlessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

9I, zJohn, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, aaI fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me, 10 abbut he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant
Greek  fellow bondservant
with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those adwho keep the words of this book. Worship God.”

11And he said to me, ae“Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 12 afLet the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”

13Behold, agI am coming soon, ahbringing my recompense with me, aito repay each one for what he has done. 14 ajI am the Alpha and the Omega, akthe first and the last, althe beginning and the end.”

15Blessed are those who amwash their robes,
Some manuscripts do his commandments
so that they may have the right to aothe tree of life and that apthey may enter the city by the gates.
16 aqOutside are arthe dogs asand sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

17 atI, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things aufor the churches. I am avthe root and awthe descendant of David, axthe bright morning star.”

18The Spirit and aythe Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And azlet the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the bawater of life without price.

19I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: bbif anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 20and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in bcthe tree of life and in bdthe holy city, which are described in this book.

21He who testifies to these things says, Surely beI am coming soon.” Amen. bfCome, Lord Jesus!
