Revelation of John 20
And the rest were slain by the sword athat came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and ball the birds were gorged with their flesh.1The Thousand Years
2Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, cholding in his hand the key to dthe bottomless pit ▼▼Greek the abyss; also verse 3
and a great chain. 3And he seized fthe dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and gbound him for a thousand years, 4and threw him into hthe pit, and shut it and isealed it over him, so that jhe might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while. 5Then I saw kthrones, and lseated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw mthe souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those nwho had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. oThey came to life and preigned with Christ for a thousand years. 6The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. 7 qBlessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such rthe second death has no power, but they will be spriests of God and of Christ, and they twill reign with him for a thousand years. The Defeat of Satan
8And when the thousand years are ended, uSatan will be released from his prison 9and will come out vto deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, wGog and Magog, xto gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 10And ythey marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded zthe camp of the saints and aathe beloved city, but abfire came down from heaven ▼▼Some manuscripts from God, out of heaven, or out of heaven from God
and consumed them, 11and the devil adwho had deceived them was aethrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where afthe beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Judgment Before the Great White Throne
12Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence agearth and sky fled away, and ahno place was found for them. 13And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and aibooks were opened. Then another book was opened, which is ajthe book of life. And akthe dead were judged by what was written in the books, alaccording to what they had done. 14And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, amDeath and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, anaccording to what they had done. 15Then aoDeath and Hades apwere thrown into the lake of fire. This is aqthe second death, the lake of fire.
