‏ Revelation of John 4

^aHe who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

The Throne in Heaven

2 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me ^blike a trumpet, said, ^c“Come up here, and ^dI will show you what must take place after this.” 3 At once ^eI was in the Spirit, and behold, ^fa throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. 4 And he who sat there had the appearance of ^gjasper and carnelian, and around the throne was ^ha rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. 5 Around the throne were ⁱtwenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, ^jclothed in white garments, with ^kgolden crowns on their heads. 6 From the throne came ^lflashes of lightning, and rumblings ^{▼▼Or voices, or sounds} and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning ⁿseven torches of fire, ^owhich are the seven spirits of God, 7 and before the throne there was ^pas it were a sea of glass, like crystal.

And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are ^qfour living creatures, ^rfull of eyes in front and behind: 8 ^sthe first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight. 9 And the four living creatures, ^teach of them with six wings, are ^ufull of eyes all around and within, and ^vday and night they never cease to say,

^w“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,
^xwho was and is and is to come!”

10 And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, ^ywho lives forever and ever, 11 the twenty-four elders ^zfall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast ^aatheir crowns before the throne, saying,
